Description

This appendix extends the official SFI Group System (v7.12) with a structured classification of equipment and systems for emission reduction and energy efficiency on board ships. It covers equipment mandatory or recommended under MARPOL Annex VI (NOx, SOx), IMO EEXI and CII regulations, EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime.

No existing official SFI codes are overwritten. All extensions occupy confirmed unassigned code space.

📌 r4 scope note: This edition covers the Emission reduction and energy efficiency domain only. The following groups are deferred to the Q4-2026 release: Alternative and low-emission fuels (707), Cable laying and cargo handling (328, 454), Shore power OPS/HVSC (868, 875), Ballast water treatment and underwater vehicles (801, 901).

Description

This appendix extends the official SFI Group System (v7.12) for dredging and offshore construction vessels. All codes sit within Primary Group 4 — Special Equipment, under subgroups 482 and 483.

  • Dredging (482) — TSHD, CSD and Backhoe Dredger plant with full parent/child hierarchy.
  • Offshore Systems & Diving Equipment (483) — A-frames, AHC winches, deck handling, LARS, subsea power & control, and offshore construction tooling.
⚠️ r4 change: Primary Group 9 (900–999) is reserved in SFI. Codes 972–992 used in r3 have been retired and replaced by subgroup 483 (Primary Group 4, alongside 482).
